partly, thats likely in the mix. Its a mix though. Here (metropolitan Europe) it is better studied, and it is an interplay of many more factors. Fragmentation of the natural space (land use change), intensification of land use/agriculture, light pollution (for night insects), and more.

I remember as kid in the 80s butterflies were everywhere come spring and of all different varieties and colours.
Class mates used to have butterfly collections.
Now I am lucky to see even one.

Keep spraying. Especially glycophsophates. Don’t neglect those noxious weed programs. Alberta counties especially. What’s a little propanol drifting into back yards?Don’t use anything BUT GMO seed. Best idea ever. Make sure to spray extra closer to water boundaries. Just that little extra touch.
