It's all rooting in people being dumb and stupid leader kill everyone. Instead of joining together to reach the vault on the moon left by high tech alien they worship, they fight each other to be only one who gain full control over that instead. And they failed miserably, costing entire civilization

There are no way home systematically speaking. We are entering the metafiction terrain for this one but mc isekai is basically compensation for the accident that shouldn't happened in mc world, but dead people stay dead so the choice is end it (died, data deleted) or transferred to new server

Yeah. It's a pack deal. This world is fucked and you not supposed to die but it happened with no way to rollback, so either take compensation or leave. It's like when gacha game can't finish on time so they give you apologem, which you can take and continue or you quit.

The mc just choose new game+
