I can't find a picture but the 'scrapyard'; at the top of Cuba St Wellington which recycled doors, window frames etc was considered 'iconic' by the renovators living in that resourceful city

It is one of my old-person complaints that "iconic," which once drew highly specific meaning from the sacred status of icons, now means anything two or more people recognize.

And yes, this is also typical of NIMBY arguments.
