There are some people who are calling this group a vanity publisher. (fancy way to say they publish anything you give them, if you pay their fee. No quality check or anything. Conspiracy theorists love these things.) Technically legit, but only barely.

None of them have backgrounds in literature or publishing, they can’t even be bothered to acquire the knowledge needed to offer genuine help to those they claim to want to help.

Again I wish to point out that the math simply doesn't work: in order to break even with $5 e-book, this AI-generated slop has to sell 1200 copies the least. And why would that many people buy that much of this particular AI-generated slop if there are going to be 8000 more books like, at the least?

As before I'd recommend to watch a video of Dan Olson / Folding Ideas "Contrepreneurs: The Mikkelsen Twins", which explains the structure and shows ins and outs of this grift. While it isn't exactly 100% same thing, it is very, very close to this grift.

i worked in print-on-demand publishing some years ago, and the quality was really bad, no copy editing, bad typesetting etc. i dont want to see this getting even worse

It’s so sickening to see these cretins trying to take people’s money. If you want to publish, you can do it for far less than $5K. And you can work with professionals who know what they’re doing!
