This is literally what happened with Target. People didn't stop shopping there, but there were lots of people like me who only went there for the things they couldn't get elsewhere and some who quit cold turkey. It had an effect in only weeks.

This! If you can switch from Whole Foods to a different grocery store and buy your books from bookshop.org instead of Amazon, that’s still a big step even if you feel tied to Amazon for other items. If everyone divested 30% that’s more than if a few people divest 100%.
