What sort of "squatters rights" laws do y'all have over there? If they're amenable.... well... help some folks into those empty houses. A strong non-violent protest and occupation might help laws change on holding empty investment properties.

What actions are you demanding? How do we get these 43k houses back in use? Personally I'd put them all under the charge of a new social housing body. If someone proves ownership, compulsory purchase. Digits need extracted pronto!
