At the highest levels, yes. They’ve even legalized most of it. But try to bribe a cop and you’ll find out real fast. We’ll see how long that lasts I guess…

A cop might not accept a bribe from a complete stranger, but do you really not believe they’d accept one from a friend or associate in a sticky situation? It might not even be a monetary bribe, just something they’d do and expect a future reward.
Of course it happens, it’s just quite different from countries where low level corruption is endemic. If you get pulled for speeding in the US, flashing a couple hundred is not worth the risk. Not true in many other places.
People getting out of low level charges is one thing, but we have people pulling off multi billion dollar scams and facing no consequences. Let’s not let the perfect be the enemy of the good.
