ππππ beautiful! I love them. I have six, one of which Iβve had for 15 years and blooms twice a year. I also have one that hasnβt bloomed since the original spike it came with finished, five years ago. Most of my orchids bloom 1-2x a year, except that one. Congrats!
I have a few that are about 10 years old. I attribute that to not overwatering and putting them over my kitchen sink where they just do their own thing. At this point they bloom if they feel like it. Two this year feel like it so far.
SUPER excited for you!! I could never get mine to cooperate with me. After my last one gave up her ghost I finally decided that I wasnβt meant to raise orchids. I was so sad because they are gorgeous. π₯°
I brought it to the orchid/garden place after a year and a half of nothing. They thought it was mostly fed too and didnβt charge me to re-pot it and gave me free advice. Then my aunt gave me advice a yr later. Still nothing. Then here we are all these yrs later! No clue what I did.
I, too, am struggling with my orchid. It's alive and growing, but I'm afraid to repot it. I have an aversion to trimming roots. It seems so anti-intuitive. The banana trick is doable, though.
I donβt trim roots either, especially since I learned the ones that arenβt green still often have a live root inside (if the internet source was correct, anyhow).
I know how exciting that is!! Congratulations!! I read that if you cut up a banana peel and submerge it in boiling water overnight, you can use it to water your orchid & boost its growth. Itβs working!!
I have 5 in a West facing window which used to have a tree in front of it. After I had the tree trimmed, & they got a bit more sunlight they all found the strength to bloom 2x a year. I also fed them orchid food. It's a magical combo of some sun, some water, but never too much of anything.
Mine is getting ready to blossom for the second year in a row after 3 or 4 years with nothing.
I FEEL you.πππππππππππππππππππππππππππππππππππππππππππππππππππππππππππππππππππππππππππππππππππππππππππππ
I canβt figure out what makes them bloom. I have 3 blooming or have spikes/buds currently. I moved them to a weird spot at Christmas and apparently they like it lol.

I find the main thing is SE facing window. Or you can put them under a lamp for 14 hours per day.
They also need to go through a temp change in fall when the temp are in the low 60s for a couple of weeks.
βThe blooming of an orchid can symbolize renewal, growth, and the potential for rebirth.β
Still waiting on mine to bloom!
LOL
