I really like using patterned fabrics. You need to be careful that the pattern isn't too busy and clash with the subject, but I think it can add a lot of visual interest.
Just found this on bluesky! I am a novice but love to embroider. Can you share any tips/links on how to do the fur stitches. My first attempt no so great!
I use long and short stitch. Using fewer strands will give you more detail. Pay close attention to the direction of the fur and let it guide your stitches. Michelle Staub has a great book on animal embroidery that I would recommend for tips.
Feel free to make us pay for your talent and hard work accordingly! πππ Thank you for sharing your beautiful work with us. I understand if not all of it can be sold regularly. βΊοΈ
Adorable and amazing, ouah you've some talent! Wish I could embroider like that. Seems to be more of a feminine art than a masculine one though (my excuse as I've not the fingers for it lol).
Once you finish embroidery, you have this little circle with artwork in it. What do you do? Do you hang it in that little circle used to hold the cloth tight? Does it become part of some larger artwork maybe a part of clothes? Are these wall art or are they parts of something else?
The circle is called a hoop, and yes, you can display your work in the hoop if you want. Or you can frame it instead. You can embroider clothing, towels, bags, hats, - pretty much anything you can get thread/floss/yarn through, you can embroider. It can be decorative to look at or practical/useful.

it's not often something evokes an audible "oh my god" from me but the colors and detail here are absolutely otherworldly
