Actually, EU AI Act DOES NOT BAN all uses of emotion recognition: It prohibits workplace & school use, & use in social scoring & predictive policing, but doesn't specifically ban use in vehicles.

As of 2024, EU REQUIRES Advanced driver distraction warning systems (they employ emotion rec) in cars.
