I would've probably voted for Jackson Merrill, but Paul Skenes was ridiculous and they were both amazing. Congrats to Skenes for winning ROY and to Merrill for an excellent first season. - ThreadSky

Curious on your thought process with your preference. Even in with a shorter season Skenes is still 1.5 WAR ahead of Merrill.

must be looking at Baseball-Reference? I prefer FanGraphs and BP, which both have Merrill ahead. You basically have to give Skenes all of the credit of the D behind him on balls in play to put him ahead of Merrill.

Gil wouldn’t have received a single vote if he was in the NL…Skenes, Merrill, Chourio and Imanaga all ahead of anybody in the AL.
