The billionaire rarely mentions Trump.

The shift mirrors Musk’s effort to revive the companies he controls, which suffered reputational damage.

I agree that his vision for his companies has been remarkable. From creating an electric car company from scratch to compete with the “big three” to rocketry (landing the booster to be re-used is like science fiction) to Starlink and its promise of high speed internet anywhere in the world.

I'm still have questions over whether Falcon 9s actually save money because they are reusable, or if the costs of additional fuel/and reduction in payload to return them each launch and of refurbishment after use are just subsidized by the US taxpayer. SpaceX *charges* less per launch, but cost?

As to Elon he grew up in apartheid South Africa. His maternal grandfather was from a quick look up a fanatical supporter of apartheid, into conspiracy theories, and into Nazism. So what we are now seeing could always have been the real Elon, and that he was just good at hiding it.
