We have a big, oafish, charming dog one of whose personality quirks is that he will never go in a door he didn’t go out of. So if he went out the back and you’re trying to get him to go in the front, tough luck. See you around back.

My dog has figured out how to work the latch on the back door, but not how to push it further open. So if you left her outside, you might come back to a nose sticking in the kitchen while she waits for you to open the door the rest of the way.
I heard our doorbell ring and found only the neighbor’s Lab, who usually spends the day at our place, at the front door with the doorbell cover on the ground. I believe she deliberately punched the doorbell
He must be related to our late, lovely, and incurably dumb Snowy. With his white head and bright blue eyes and his total lack of any smarts, he was a dead ringer for Ron Johnson. At least he was kind.
In my half Irish family, we were taught to always go out the same door you went in or the troublesome spirits would take advantage of it and enter the home. So your dog is clearly aware of that rule.
Yep. I thought it was just my Dad but when we visited his family, my Uncles and cousins did the same thing. So obviously a remnant from The Old Country.
After our beloved Itzy died this summer, we adopted our smallest dog ever in fall. We were planning retirement and wanted him to be able to travel with us. An 11 lb 4 yr old yorkipoo rescue.
I can scoop him up in one hand if I need to. It feels so odd-doggo can't get stubborn about which way we go
