The TTC ordered 60 new streetcars, when what it really needs is to fix the streetcar network, not more streetcars to rattle along and get stuck in traffic.

Stop consolidation is the big one that Reece is talking about, I believe.
But beyond that, signal priority and dedicated lanes (or, for King, the entire street) are also the low-hanging fruit that would get transit moving more quickly, at a relatively low cost.
ordering them without the line on the books seems foolish to me. I also bet we wouldn’t need as many if we actually operated them properly and thus they covered their lines faster
Now we will need more buses to run that line temporarily…and dig up the roadway twice…should have just got bidirectional vehicles, and built the bit up to the portal…then shamed the province to paying for union…

Though I think that's less of a funding issue and more of political fight.
They can range from mere stop consolidation to full in-street boarding Islands
