I wish there was an option for subtitles in the original language that *don't* contain those additions. I some times have a hard time hearing exactly what the characters are saying, but can hear the dogs and the music just fine. Please take this feedback forward, if possible. 🙏 - ThreadSky

It all comes down to what the broadcaster/ streamer wants. The subtitler just does the job. I’m doing plenty of non-SDH for the original language too.

there is normally. [CC] or SDH subtitles are descriptive and others usually not. Getting a subtitles plug in for eg open subtitles helps.

My experience is if you watch subtitles in some other language than what is spoken, then it's only the characters' lines. If you watch in the original language, it's SDH. At least in all the streaming services I've used.

yea i know its not very streamlined there seemingly, but if youd stream somewhere that allows plugins (stremio or kodi, dont know anywhere else), open subtitles in my experience does very much go by these standards.

Thanks for the tip, I might look into it.

Since most people (me included) probably don't want to put their time into learning stuff like that, it would of course be best if it just appeared as an option in the streaming services themselves. Stripping out every [...] should be fairly easy...
