Has anybody tried putting cool little prizes inside boxes of *healthy* food? Like I’m not saying I definitely for sure would eat quinoa five days in a row just to get a free decoder ring…but I’m not saying I definitely for sure wouldn’t either.

Most "healthy" alternatives are loaded full of fake/toxic shit. There are a couple of local stores that offer more legit healthy products, but sadly lacking do to corporate greed
Fun fact: If you eat nothing but quinoa for 3 weeks, your farts will start to smell like cookies. Trust me, I know.
Another fun fact: Eat a large meal of only Jerusalem Artichokes (Sunchokes) and you will be astonished by how much you will fart. It will be Non-Stop for hours.
I can make quinoa taste like dressing. I love experimenting with different kinds of quinoa flavors. It’s so easy to make and good for the gut. No prize needed. 🥰
Please tell us what you think is “healthy” food and how to buy those particulars on a very fixed income in an area where only Circle Ks, and their ilk, may be found. Your turn!
I was going to recommend Chinese supermarkets, traditional chinese food restaurants, East Indian stores, any place that sells Halal or kosher, but... you really have nothing but Circle K around?
I don’t know what Amazon in your country offers, but I did a quick three-item search search on my Amazon and found all of them: quinoa, pearl barley & dried mushrooms, all reasonably priced (you could probably get cheaper if you spend the time) and all healthier than highly processed foods.
Junk food gets the cool packaging with bright colors, often the candy ITSELF is a fun shape and color, cool mascots, fun commercials... the deck is stacked in so many ways =(
Only if you condition yourself to like garish colours and tacky plastic, rather than beautifully curated wholesome foods in glass and wicker. No contest at all!
I'm not sure you've thought this through. The reason millions of dollars are spent on advertising products to children is because it works. Sometimes kids whine, sometimes they use their own money, sometimes parents are too frazzled to do the research required to feed their children healthy food etc
Sigh. I forget how bad parenting is pervasive: who doesn’t know some foods, particularly those marketed to children by unscrupulous manufacturers, are frankly rubbish? though I do remember a conversation with an ‘educated’ mother who thought that b/fast cereals were healthy b/c they added vitamins!🤦🏼♀️
They never had a problem when the prize was a tiny box of Fruit Loops ....
Do have to say I got things off cereal boxes that don't compare to some things out there. First talking book with different topics for $8.99 and 3 boxtops. Well, it was cool to me anyway.
I get different kinds of quinoa and layer it like sand art. Then I get the joy of messing it up when I take out a scoop .. I think it's almost as fun as a prize inside!
Stock holders would probably violently oppose to it because it cuts into profit and it delays the purchase of their luxury yachts by 3 minutes.
Welcome to capitalism.
Yes, it sucks.
My daughter bought some healthy cereal - Weetabix. Taste like dried and processed grasses and grain. And by processed, I mean by a horse. Put a Shelby Cobra in the box and I might eat it. But probably nothing less than that.
My DIL has Celiac Disease and must avoid certain foods !! She makes the MOST amazing dishes w Qinoa (which I can't eat bc of the large carb content) !!
When my kids were little I told them that the bagged lettuces at the supermarket had toy cars in them. The power of suggestion helped to increase lettuce consumption in our house.
Liability issue because eventually someone would choke on the prize or try to insert it in their a-holes. It's why you only get stickers in Cracker Jack.
I see where you’re coming from on this, but I do not want to get a decoder ring and secret message, spend hours deciphering it just to learn it says, “eat more quinoa.”

There is no need for that.
Also, I just now googled quinoa because I forgot what it looked like, then had to further google to see if it's just Grape Nuts.
It's not.
And I’d do it again and again.
Fresh produce and animal foods (meat, eggs, seafood, dairy) usually don't come in boxes.
20 minutes later:
Wait what was I making for dinner? Eh ice cream will be fine.
