Sometimes that social battery goes riiiight from 73% to 0% like oh no I must have my brightness cranked up too far, like either put me back in dark mode or I’m gonna need to recharge for a while

I like that term, social battery. It’s such an accurate description of the reality, and I think I will start using it at work when I start feeling antisocial.
I know several of my colleagues could put it to good use as well.
The first time I read your post I thought you meant battery as in beating. That made sense to me. But battery as in stored energy: my social energy sometimes runs dry in 45 minutes. That’s a problem when I’m at a lengthy holiday dinner. I abandoned the people and go outside and explore the garden.
For me, it's a single interaction with a shit human being. Inevitably, it's the first person I have to provide service to right at the beginning of the day job.
I just wanna say that I really appreciate the introvert insights that you provide, Jonathan. 🙂
As an AuDHD & ~90% extrovert, it’s often difficult for me to understand the inner workings of the introverts in my life. (And sadly, they usually don’t offer much explanation when I ask them about it. 🤷🏻♀️)
