I was just at the grocery store and overheard a mother and daughter discussing what to have for dinner and the little girl said "I don't care as long as it has noodles" and I was like yes girl yes that is correct

That was my daughter's idea of a meal when she was younger. Mashed potatoes. French fries. Macaroni and cheese. anything white-ish. We called it "blonde food." And she preferred French's or Heinz yellow mustard. We referred to that as "suburban mustard"
I have a couple of those in my library. I've read about how the homemaker used the entire cow, for example. Nothing wasted. And the recipes the government distributed for stretching ingredients. Beans and legumes, rice and pasta. Interesting.
I bet!! I’ve been teaching cooking classes for over 25 years. Being able to cook nutritious, delicious meals is an important skill. Especially in the months and years ahead.

The very best thing to come of the world crumbling at our feet is that adults feel free to acknowledge their inner child and free ourselves from those cages again. I love this innocence and it makes me value humanity even more.
At Trader Joe’s, where everything is neatly packaged in plastic or cellophane….middle aged woman says to grey-haired, stoop shoulder mom who’s holding snackpac of cheese, fruit, crackers, veggies: oh, munchables for old folks.
