As far as "it just delays purchases by one day", maybe. But if there is a significant drop in spending on one day, they will notice and know that a large group of consumers are pissed and ready to organize. And it may build from that. That, they would fear.
people either stock up before, or purchase the next day. A better idea is to take that money and actually spend it on a non profit you care about. Support your favorite cause. Wall street investor care about quarterly results. One day blips are lost in the rounding error of a quarterly report.
was just about to say this. if you really want to make an impact then get a LARGE group of people (preferably in one county or store district) and have them not shop at a store for a month. maybe two. or designate specific days during the week and protest outside, warning off other buyers.
trust me, an empty store is eerie as hell, even if people stock up before or after, after a few weeks the store manager or district manager will be confused as hell.
That's easy. I ran out of food and money yesterday so I doubt I'll even make it to the end of the month. At least that's what I pray every night before I go to sleep. Not to wake up.
And there's that. I hope your spending some time calling your Governor- remind them they need to make food assists very shortly, because shit is hitting the fan.
Yeah, but you guys are exactly the people who need to roast your officials. Have you seen town hall footage from Georgia? The outrage needs to build, especially in place like TX!
While I agree with the sentiment, it's incredibly unrealistic. Many areas no longer have small businesses outside of stores like these. When the only place to get food is Walmart, it makes boycotting Walmart nearly impossible, or worse if you're poor you just simply don't have the luxury of choice.
I'm actually going to do this. Might even extend it over the entire weekend. The exception is the flea market. Corporate doesn't make a dime off those purchases.
I don't believe we have to organize this anymore. Not buying shit, but local, and small businesses only. In fairness I have chickens, and I would recommend we all reset to support our communities as much as you can. It will hit hard! Keep cash on hand.
Plus moving to Democratic state making our own system would be costly & dangerous but where are we now! You donβt even know whoβs who half of the time

The billionaire owners supported/ helped Trump win the election.
People need to practice this.
Only buy absolute necessities and buy them from small business where possible.
(Hard to find a small business that sells food. Kinda like how it would be in an oligarchy)
They have to be boycotted permanently.
A 1-day boycott just results in people who would have bought something on the 28th buying it on the 1st instead.
A full boycott of the retail stores who no longer support DEI or support p2025 is more effective.
Boycott businesses that are not supporting what you believe in.
Humanity and democracy are worth deleting Facebook and Amazon accounts. It is worth not shopping at Target, Starbucks, Lowes, and Walmart.
Boycott all large corporations, spend only on essential products as much as possible, and shop locally as you 'rough it.'
It's the safest, easiest and most effective kind of strike.
One day is enough of a threat.
