Imagine having the resources to save dying children, but choose instead to kill them by taking away the tiny amount of food and basic necessities they had.
Most billionaires are complete sociopaths. I worked at one place and the billionaire owner in his later 70’s still worked and liked nothing more than to make sure people feared for their jobs.
It’s not. It’s just unadulterated greed and a twisted/selfish interpretation of capitalism. It’s the culture nurtured by oligarchs and now this regime.

There's a lot more 0's involved, granted, but this is pretty much the attitude of every person I know who is over the age of 70 and accustomed to having a few years worth of living expenses in the bank at any given moment. Hoard and preserve, rather than distribute.
Being rich is just... being rich: there is no reason whatever to assume any rich person is either smart, or caring. In fact, there is far more reason to assume they are neither.
