I love the Director's cut of Dune. I thought that David Lynch had a unique understanding that the world of Dune was strange and odd and he wasn't afraid of it.

Apparently Frank Herbert approved of that film, even if hardly anybody else did.
He wasn’t so keen on the prior Jodorowsky attempt.
