The Fionavar Tapestry by Guy Gavriel Kay is close for me for reasons people usually cite as favorites.

My grade 11 English teacher asked if I'd heard of it after I wrote a short story for an assignment, because I write in a similar style.

Reading Kay convinced me my style wasn't unviably weird.

Both the book that I used to consider my fave (Mists of Avalon, MZB curse her memory) and now Wheel of Time I first read translated into my native German - but have since also read in English.
But there indeed are so many other books and languages out there that I'm missing out on
