Thank you. I have a 2018 model X. I still feel passionate about reversing climate change but I am stuck in my lease until 2029. It feels humiliating to even get in the car. I fear the car wont make it through this administration. I am SO overwhelmed and have no clue what to do next...

thank you 🙏🏻💙, i have a model 3 i saved for in 2019, i was so happy when i got it even though it was out of my budget, i felt like i was doing something good. now i’m so humiliated to drive it, but i won’t ever drive a gas car again, and i can’t get another EV for the trade in price. i feel stuck.

You might be able to slide sideways into a slightly newer used EV for not too much more.
There’s a lot of cars coming off leases or being traded in. I’m seeing 2-3 year old cars at 30-40% below their original price.

The same. I bought a 2012 Model S. I was happily doing my part to avoid accelerating climate change. 2020 changed that when Elon started becoming Trump's "Apartheid Bride." I dumped it in 2025 for a Lucid Air.

I urge people not to set fire to pre-2023 Teslas.

If the goal is to degrade the value of Tesla stock, then ALL Tesla products are fair game. It’s unfortunate for early odopters, but anything that supports the resale value of a Tesla product, props up the wealth of the world’s richest Nazi.

To be fair to Mike and whales. You had to be pretty online to hear about the cave divers story. Also CEOs as a group tend to be walking red flags that would get entry level staff in any organisation fired so it would be easy to ignore that story for the benefits of an electric car.

In my experience the conversations around BEVs in 2018 was that the gold standard products and value for money was Tesla and that the alternatives there weren’t worth the sacrifices in pricing and efficiency. I would say that didn’t really change till mid 2020.
