I'd argue it was impossible for them to be better off now than they were in 2020 because Embiid now has 5 years of mileage that took him from being on the verge of an MVP to unable to play + Simmons went from a young All-Star to a buyout guy (this would've been so much worse if Ben didn't ask out)
