BlueSky was cultivated by sex workers and others in the industry/adjacent, BEFORE the Exodus of Musk, the owner already knew how bad us adult content creators were/are treated elsewhere and said "Hi" - There are TAGS and FILTERS for all to use, if ppl would learn how 😆
I'm no prude, but a couple of days ago, I opened Bluesky and was instantly greeted by a pic of a much older lady with a wrinkly weiner in her mouth taken by the recipient. It was an unexpected trajectory at the time. 🤢🫣☠️
I would argue the issue isn’t people doing that, it’s the systems in place that require it.
For example, we all know how payment processors are, and that even hosting anything NSFW these days is a risk to your company due to their sway.
Because of this, all content from simple nudity to outright sexual content ends up needing to be regulated and properly tagged. Otherwise, you risk the whole space disappearing.
You can simultaneously criticize systems AND the people who perpetuate and profit from those systems. Payment processors don't just arise from the laws of physics, and they didn't just grow out of the ground.
True. The point still stands though, there's a miniboss and a couple dungeon keys before you can get to the boss room.
This is the most nsfw-friendly place I've seen in a long time, even with the overzealous automod.
or, hear me out, sw can tag their nudes so people who have specifically requested not to see them don’t have to. the algorithm here isn’t like twitter, it doesn’t push sw to the back, just makes sure they’re interacting with people who are into it
i have filters for images tagged as nudity/nsfw
if those images do not have a filter on, i still see them
if sw check that box under image posts that says “nudity”, my filter works, and i do not see them
Well, when I'm browsing
# gaming and I see a "wanna come over and play with my joystick" and it's just a very commendable cock... I'm disappointed bc I was hoping to play atari.
I mean... I have no problem with sex workers and actively support them, but I do think it's important for people to flag their content. I'd like to be able to safely browse Bluesky in public. There's an easy way for sex workers to flag their content so why is it a problem?

That way we open-minded folks can see it, and those folks who don't want to see it can just turn it off.
It's a perfect solution.
Like me on this account, I check bsky sometimes on the bus
Genuinely curious

SW shouldn't have to do your work for you

this is how filters work, it’s a two-way street
