The word “minimalist” has way too many syllables

Just be glad you are a writing teacher and not a biochemist, especially a plant biochemist like me. We deal in wheelbarrows of syllables.

I once heard a visual artist describe her work as "simplistical." "You mean simple," I said, hating myself for being such an asshole.

So does "syllable" if you think about it.

Why is abbreviation such a long word?

It does really trip over its own vowels.
