Omg i watched the 2 part documentary on PBS on the women's suffrage movement and I knew it was hard fought but wow. Those women were BOSSSSSSS. I cried when it finally passed like it just happened and not 100 years ago. #empathissues
People literally died for the right to a weekend, living wages (that are all but nonexistent for most now), and the right to unionize. History is so poorly taught in our schools I’m really worried for this moment. I hope collectively we have the wisdom to stop facism in its tracks.
But, in the USA, health insurance is tied to your job. Protesting puts at risk your job, and therefore also health insurance. So, if people protest, they or a loved one could die as a result. Many in these situations are just keeping their heads down just hoping to survive.
Some died, some were force fed, beat up, work houses, poor houses, insane asylums, racial injustice & died over the rights they believed in. Our history was not pretty and we fought for the smallest of things we deserved. Now tell me when we were ever really great? We were on the road but far to go.

The mission is on us now.
Otherwise we fail our children AND our grandparents.
We do not want to be THAT generation.
We are not their fucking slaves. They would have NOTHING without us.
