Whenever a pale dried out shit asks me what my name is, I say “Lazaro, you can call me Laz though” yet they always without fail respond “lahzahro? Laze? Lazer?” And I’m supposed to not constantly be angry at the world around me?

That’s the kinda support everyone needs, thank you so much for this comment! I’m 23 now and just recently began to break the societal shackles placed on me at an early age, reading this cements that what I’m doing is right no matter how many times I hear “it’s not that serious”
You’re very welcome. I look at US and say if it wasn’t for US you wouldn’t have… So put some some respect on my name.. literally. Our names have meanings. We have a language amongst ourselves that they will never have. Our cultures have meshed and mixes to create even more flavor.
I can feel the strength emanating from your words, It’s so important to talk so candidly about the society we’re in. My heart although heavy is lightened through this exchange, our community bears the weight of this society upon all of our backs.
That’s so true. Everyone wants to be us until it’s time to be us. We are the blueprint and never forget that. Just encourage the next. That’s how we keep on keeping on. By uplifting one another, through kind words and engagement.
I’m supposed to accept being viewed as lesser then? To accept having to constantly keep any negative emotions private because as soon as they’re released in public im labeled as “dangerous” and “aggressive”? I have to simply accept it when I see my community being spit upon and disrespected? EXPLODE
Growing up, while Disney, Nick and every other network was preaching “be yourself” our parents had to sit us down and explain that if we didn’t fit in and act like THEM we wouldn’t make it, we had to understand what it meant to”be a statistic” as a CHILD, yet we’re supposed to be quiet and thankful?
