(the only thing I would improve upon is the doom morph mechanic it’s a little too inconsistent with its timings and it also makes you go slower which is a sin in sonic games)
in shadow generations when shadow gets new powers he gets surrounded by shadows and grabs his head in pain and goes "hng.... no... no......!!! URAAWWAAAGGHH" and he does a cool pose with his new powers and it's the coolest shit i've ever seen in my fucking life. 10/10
So real, dude. Problem with modern Sonic writing (actually, just modern writing in general) where they're afraid to just be unashamedly and unadulteratedly badass.
It has a rewrite of... arguably subpar execution. It's not awful at all, Generations barely had a story to begin with, but it just seems arbitrary and half-assed.
Most of the dialogue itself is fine enough, but they didn't reanimate most of the game so it looks really clunky.
They also added the Drop Dash as an equippable skill for Classic Sonic and built it into Modern and both Super Sonics, moved a couple of the Red Rings around, and added three Lost Chao in every Act.
They made a Sonic game with zero lows it's insane.
Even the good/great games have some level/boss/plot element to complain about, and here Shadow comes along and bats 1000
I absolutely loved shadow generations, but i am so sad it was this damn short. Hope tehre will be more Shadow in the future in the same vein and success as shadow generations or Sonic frontiers

also the boss shittalking and the general shonen nature of it all. kino.
Earnest enjoyment of rad things is where it's at.

I'm still personally happy about SxSG in a similar way despite being more within the Classic Sonic crowd.

literally peak
We get "Sonic the Hedgehog 3", but there, it'll be called "Sonic × Shadow: Tokyo Mission".
