More recently, after I let my facial hair grow out my 5 year old niece stopped calling me "Uncle." I am now "Ugly Mister."

I'm an American living in Japan for many years now.
My friend's 7-year-old daughter recently asked me: "Why aren't you Japanese?!"
I couldn't stop laughing for several minutes, then explained to her the concept of people living outside Japan.
