I don’t know if you’ve ever been to Munich. But the bikes integrate so well with the city and the other car traffic. Businesses need to know that bicycles are not the enemy.

Janchenko's bakery is particularly disappounting to me. I only started going there as a result of the Bloor bike lanes opening up. I've now biked out there multiple times with my kid as a nice Saturday excursion. I'll be sad when they are once more inaccessible.

I just can't patronize these short-sighted businesses. Study after study shows how bike lanes improve liveability AND business access but the car lobby wants us mired in the 1950s. They made their choice and I'm making mine.

There are much better options in Bloor West. Their sweets are seemingly never fresh. Let them know why you'll be getting your treats elsewhere! (I love Baka and their patio is great when the weather gets nice.)
