It's not that they see politics as a game. It's that they don't believe there's anything they can do about it. And they're correct. Our elections are rigged, our politicians (regardless of party) are corrupt, and our system has become an inverse-fascist corporate oligarchy.
I disagree. Anyone who voted for Obama one year, Trump another, and then RFK Jr., is playing games. While there are certainly limits to what we can do politically, we are not completely powerless. What’s happening now is garbage, and it was preventable. Choose least harm, then change the system
That's not playing games, that's not understanding the situation. Believe it or not, there ARE people who don't realize what's happening, and vote accordingly. Call them unintelligent or uninformed, either way, but most voters don't simply play games.
I agree with you that there are many people who have no idea what’s going on or what’s about to happen. You’re attacking a straw man by arguing against “most voters don’t play games”, which I didn’t say.
A large segment (how about that?) treat politics as a game as evidenced by their choices.
I wasn't attacking a straw man, I was saying that while there may be SOME people among the group you're talking about who play games, the majority do not. And no, it's not a large segment. Active voters generally stick with their principles. Those who switched are very few and far between.
