📚🧵 2025 Reads:
~ Orbital by Samantha Harvey ~
Really good, but not as good as I was led to believe by reviews / accolades etc.
Strong start to the year, though.

Enjoyed this a lot. Short but sweet, really well written and hugely engaging. The strong start to 2025 continues.
Keeping the strong start going. Great science fiction, but I have to say; the title is awful and irrationally irritates me.
Interesting start. Interesting end. Huge lulls in between. Loved the concept - and I agree with loads of what Chayka argues - but it’s not conveyed in a consistently engaging way.
Digging out my old iPod though.
Surprisingly great. Detective noir from 1959. 8th in a series but totally works as a standalone book. Really, really enjoyed this.
Meaty, but entirely enthralling. Read Of Mice and Men last year for the first time and wanted to read this off the back of it. Easy to see why it’s regarded so highly.
The OG. I think that by today’s standards, it’s a little tame for what most people would think of when you say “supernatural horror”, but it’s still super enjoyable.
