The remarkable thing about science is, it works whether you believe in it or not. You donβt have to proclaim your faith, βjoin the church of Scienceβ or become a βborn-again Scientistβ ... it works for everybody.
Science, when properly done self corrects as best it can within the limitations of being practiced by us overly confident limited capacity humans.
Religion also corrects, the reformers reformed, the protestants protested and change. There is the capacity of evil in both arenas
Religion never corrects its own dogma, it is always forced kicking and screaming into doing so by outside influences. And then it goes back to pretending it was that way all along.
I see the beauty in both - I've spent years helping others through both. I have to jump, but peace to you - Science is pretty cool - on that we can agree.
Not saying science has not been bastardized, used to promote evil human intentions or misunderstood. Humans will use things to their own ends. Religion uses prejudice, superstition, and fear to accomplish those ends.
Religion is not required for morality. It actually seems to be a way to justify immorality by sky daddy forgiveness. Be as awful as you want but confess and all is good.
Religion has been the cause of more deaths, violence, and hatred continuing now. Israel/Palestinians and many other conflicts are
Donβt know of any science books recommending atomic weapons be used in those who donβt believe in science. As a tool of ignorance, fear, and hate but not non-belief.
Not semantics.
Facts can be presented and misrepresented. But in the end gravity works.
Faith can be expressed and interpreted to mean anything so as to fit a narrative. Invisible non-existent sky daddy says what the believers want to hear.
Science certainly gives observable repetition - and we can interpret as best we can within the limitations of our five senses. There must always still be a baseline assumption as a starting point. That there are natural laws that govern, etc.
But if you have studied the Hebrew and Greek texts (with as much original language understanding as can be mustered) it is often the case that the "sky daddy" says some pretty difficult things that even believers don't want to hear - if it were not the case, it would likely all be human based.

You can literally trust your life to it.
Abuses of religion are not uncovered by religionists doing religion: they are uncovered by humans doing morality.

Jus' sayin'.
They should stick to a couple of tin cans and a ball of string. Or stick to a dildo.
