Another son, Jonas (1923), perished in Monowitz, a sub-camp of Auschwitz, on 21 (or 12) January 1944. He may have been deported separately.

3/n Of the 213 Alkmaar Jewish community in 1942, 129 men, women and children were murdered only 84 survived the war. Among the survivors the mixed married and their children. Of the 178 who travelled to Amsterdam, more than half are murdered. Only a few return to Alkmaar.
