When it comes to all qualified authors being required to act as reviewers, does this include all authors or just first authors? For example, will my PI have to act as a reviewer and will my paper be rejected if he doesn't accept the assignment?
Will papers be rejected if one person on the paper doesn't accept the assignment? I personally provided 2x the reviews that I received at CVPR but someone on my paper didn't accept the assignment. I would feel a bit robbed given the effort I put into reviewing if my paper was rejected due to that.
Not sure what you mean by “doesn’t accept the assignment”. Authors of papers that are deemed qualified don’t have a choice about participating as a reviewer.
I had received an email inviting me to be a reviewer and it appears as though there was an accept option and a decline option. If one person on a paper declines the reviewer invitation is the whole paper at risk of being rejected (even if the other authors produced more reviews than they received?)
I agree, but the phrasing should reflect that there are valid reasons for not submitting reviews, not that the PCs decide whose papers to deal reject based on personal opinion.
What about removing them from the authors’ list, rather than desk rejecting the paper? 🤣 I can see how this would piss off a lot of people! We may as well be back to 1/2 authors papers 😁 Just saying…
