Pretty simple question where is all of this production going to occur?? We are a digital economy.
Plenty of good safe European pharm companies that we can work with.
Total bullshit to always pivot to China
I'm a pharmacist. A lot of our generic drugs are manufactured in India. In addition, the raw ingredients are generally sourced from many different countries. For example: Heparin, the raw ingredient is sourced from the intestines of pigs in China.
Sidebar: I note a lot of cat food is from Thailand.
That's pretty hilarious. First he kneecaps our scientific institutions and mistreats the scientific community in this country and then he wants to lure pharmaceutical producers to shift their operations to same said country?
He just kicked the same scientists in the crotch, defunded existing research, pulled the plug on some specific high-promise tech like mRNA, made it harder to import scientists, and made the approval process more random and risky.
We won't be able to trust the ingredients or efficacy of medications. The FDA and Consumer Protection bureau used to catch a lot of fraud in this sector, except now they can't.
Hurricane wiped out one plant providing Bagged IV fluids creating Nation Wide shortage for over 6 months. These tarrifs will make COVID-19 supply chain shortages look like a hiccup. We were running out of anesthesia type meds. Antibiotics. Anti-anxiety meds. Pain meds. Hello 3rd World 🌎
