I keep thinking about the book "What Works Can Hurt," by Yong Zhao. His main point is that in medicine we evaluate medications by looking for benefits *and* negative side effects, actively looking for potential harms. We don't do that in education, especially with technology.

This has been my issue with the Google/ Apple educator badges- all of it is busywork that never asks people to consider harms or governance just “look at me I can use Gsuite”. Not to take away from anyone’s skills, but we need more than tech fanboy schemes
