4. Thancred made the first move and it was quite the opposite of smooth. After three rounds of ale in Thanalan, Z'valiyah became too flirtatious as she does. After a retreat to an inn room, he came onto her. She was surprised and their first kiss was a near-headbutt.

Shite this is also 5...and 6. Z'valiyah leaned into his advances their first time and in the morning, she yelped seeing them sharing a bed and pretended to remember everything. Thancred remembered and couldn't shake her from his mind after. She was his favorite encounter.

3. Z'valiyah realized she had feelings for him a little before the Lahabrea incident. She didn't confess until Ishgard though. Thancred realized around Ifrit so much sooner, but she'd push him away out of cowardice and it was a mess.

We'll start with the Scion times. Z'valiyah thought he was a worm - a womanizer full of empty promises to get what he wanted. He thought she was cute and had a rather memorable personality. As they are in a relationship later on, her opinion has changed but his has not.

1. They technically met as vagrants in Limsa Lominsa when Thancred briefly came to her aid in a hate crime. She had time to thank him and he gave her stolen gold to get on a boat to Gridania. No names exchanged, no nothing. Neither of them realize it until ShB.
