I'm usually in full yap mode in the evening after work. I did a half day on my day off today just to make some extra scratch. Barely anyone chats it feels. To me, many are on for the numbers game.
I made my account last summer just in case something weird happened, and sure enough. Also, just talking and interacting helps the algorithm to push you in front of people who will follow you (and who you can follow back).
That's been a massive difference from the other spot vs here, this feels more like how things were in the beginning there. More discourse and conversation, less ads, spam, and bots.
If not for my cat I'd have none probably. You can check out people with the same interests via feeds. If you search horror, then click on feeds you get a bunch of different lists you can scroll through and check out. I've been on here a year and it took time.
