No, it hasn't. 2 of the 3 adults here are disabled. My daughter's twin sons are supposed to be saving money so they can get vehicles & have their own lives, but instead they're helping with groceries, gas, & utility bills. What happens when we lose our checks & they move out? We're fucked is what.
My SS was due in my account yesterday 2/12. Bank told me funds would be transferred upon authorization & that would happen as scheduled on 2/12. My SS was still listed as “future deposit pending” at 2:20 AM on 2/13. SO I DIDN’T get it on scheduled date. It was finally released at 8:30ish this AM.
I hope for you all, this is not the intent. Looking from the outside (Canada), all we mostly hear is your President whom wants us to be annexed as a State. I am hoping for the planet, these current politics do not continue to escalate. I wish the best for your future and good luck.
🤷♀️😳☮️💙 I hope people are starting to realize that this is REALLY BAD. We’re going to have to FIGHT BACK. That’s the only way to get rid of MUSK. He has no RIGHT to do the things he’s doing.
Yeah, my xfinity internet went out yesterday for some dumb, wrong, reason and I immediately wondered if it was Elon (me being in Silicon Valley and all.)
I have done some work through https://care.com. My last position paid $50/hr to help a woman with severe dementia. She finally went into a nursing home.
I'm looking again.
That's awesome. I have had a few gigs through them. I've enjoyed all of them. Some were more difficult. The last one was 6 days a week, 5 hours a day for 2 years. It's been almost a year, so I am ready again.
How does moving to savings protect a claw back? Would they just take “X” amount (pun intended) of dollars back from the deposit account regardless of where the * actual * dollars were moved?
I seriously don’t know
Keep one dollar in the account the money is deposited to. They have access to that. Set up a separate savings account, even at a different bank if possible and move all the deposit into that bank account. Won't keep them out forever, but won't make it easy for them to reach out and take it either.
Make sure you don't have an overdraft facility on the account your SS is paid into (unsure if you call it the same in the US but that's what we call it in the UK)
I think what they are suggesting is having dedicated account that does nothing but receive your government payments as soon as they are received, transfer them into cash and deliver them to another location.
When your SS is deposited into your checking account, the routing and account numbers are used to direct the treasury where to put that money. If you take the money out of the checking account and put it into a savings account, it is a different account number, so they can't access it.
As long as your savings is NOT attached to your checking. Mine was, until my computer got hacked. I went in, changed account numbers, and separated my savings (totally different number), AND took my savings account off line. No one, including me, can access it online by any means.

For me, the eagle flies next Wednesday.
I'm looking again.
but prepare for the worst.
