I know secondary schools that don’t teach Computing (!!!!). I know some that have limited digital devices, cost and no budget left for PCs. I know some that even disengage pupils with dull lessons in my area alone.

It needs to be a core subject and funded as such by GOV. We live in a Digital Era.

It's crazy to not teach the subject at all! Once the curriculum review is over that should change things as ALL schools will have to follow NC (even academies!)

I think we need to acknowledge that it isn't all about Computer Science. When the government dropped GCSE and A level ICT, they disenfranchised a whole group of young people. CS is most definitely for some pupils, but ICT was for more.

I didn't buy into the "it wasn't academic enough" nonsense. Whoever said that had never taught complex database queries or JavaScript. We were debating new technologies such as AI and ML, and other ethical dilemmas such as privacy. Scrapping was a bad move.
