I don’t know man, my experience with cell phone carriers in the UK is that each one is worse than the last. My service on three used to be decent, and then it went to terrible and they also cut international roaming. So I ended up on 02, and…

…they have good international roaming – it works fine in America! – but it is just above absolutely useless and the West Midlands where I live. My husband says he’s happy with EE data coverage, but if you say their international roaming is extortionate than amount of ideas

yeah, the international EE fees are the worst (and they don't cancel easily).

I catch the train from Edi through the midland east and west, and lose signal easily there.

But yeah, each is worse than the last :(

O2 has good roaming in almost all the countries I go to. Good deals to be had for SIM only if you get a reconditioned phone from CEX for instnace.

I'm happy with Tesco given my periodic need for data in the EU, and it was pretty good even before getting a super special offer from a friend who worked in their phone shop.

Although I would note that when my daughter was on Tesco, her data reception around Durham was terrible. Instant improvement when she switched to O2.

I'm on vodafone. Think it was £9 a month for roaming in 50 countries, unlimited calls + phone extra. Lucky there's a large data allowance as there was a 3.8GB update today while I was out shopping. Like many things in life, have to keep on changing because the last experience was so bad ;-)

I have used GiffGaff for years, and its been pretty much great. They're on the O2 network in the UK, which others have mentioned, and roaming in EU has not been a problem.
If you want a provider who also does the full phone provision plan thing, I hear Three is good, if not as good as they once were
