Around 35% of SpaceX’s revenue comes directly from the federal govt.

Less than 1% of NPR’s budget comes from the federal govt.

I know zero about SpaceX but it’s important to stress that federal support for public *radio* (TV has a different model) goes two places, primarily: directly to local stations (especially important to keep rural ones on the air) & to the infrastructure that moves programs from producers to stations

I have family who worked for a #spacex contractor, and EM complained about the failure rate of the parts. So he used that fed contract money to buy them out and my family quit. That was 2018.
