In fact many billionaires and multimillionaires double-dip: Individuals and their businesses receive subsidies from the US treasury directly *and* in the form of tax breaks…
No our social security that we paid into was supposed to be untouched. Reagan allowed the Republitraitors to "borrow" from it. THEY NEVER RETURNED IT. So it's safe to say that they stole it. And they believe if it disappeared they shouldn't have to pay it back.
Another secret - Social Security and Medicare come from a dedicated tax and have nothing to do with the budget or debt. The budget and debt comes from the Federal Income tax - separate funding. The rich avoid paying that tax - see the diagram
The side deal being reported about to get a stopgap spending bill passed includes a 1.5T increase in the debt ceiling through reconciliation (50% rather than 2/3rds) along with a promised 2.5T in net mandatory spending. Medicare/Medicaid, SS, SNAP, unemployment insurance, etc.
It’s actually more dubious. They’ve been taking the money from Social Security to pay for the wars that they didn’t pay for and then give themselves tax cuts. They’ve transferred $50 trillion from the middle class in the last 40 or 50 years.
You nailed it, anybody that says the US's debt is because of entitlement spending and not the wealthy avoiding their fair share of taxes is hoodwinking you.The rich know how much they don't pay in taxes, cause that helps them pay for tax code loopholes congress writes them, at everyone else expense.
They stay in the us because irs vastly cheaper for them already. You'd have to raise it a LOT to have them randomly move out, because moving operations isn't some cheap, 2 minute process.
And its still not good thst you let billionaires hold you hostage actually
Right but they won't under 100% sales tax. Or even 80% lol. What people don't understand is that taxing the rich won't actually help people. Yes, they're an issue. But their an issue that comes from the country itself. The US needs to fix its tax code, not blindly tax people to death.
I can agree on the us tax vode being an issue. But no billionaire is going to get "taxed to death". No one is proposing take every single cent away from them.
The problem is they abuse stocks and assets to absolutely abuse the system and avoid taxes. So they don't pay their share
I think it’s also what fuels this picture that I suspect is one of the reasons people increasingly want change in western economies, which unfortunately their politicians are paid not to give them.
Don’t forget about an absurdly bloated military budget that hasn’t dropped even though we aren’t fighting two wars anymore. AND they can’t even account for trillions of it that they “lost”. Anyone blaming SS or Medicare are ghouls. Full stop.
How about starting with the basics, like who is the debt owed to? How does money even work when you have sovereign currency and can even be in debt to yourself? Is it about paying taxes in the first place? Does it work like a household economy at all?
Well, someday, we’ll have to pay the bills and the only money they can pay those bills with will be Social Security because any place we have money they haven’t stolen

That social security is problem.
Good news is government so efficient. Not giving it away to others or wasting. Problem solved if few pay more.
Hoarding.
BUT DEBT IS STILL FRIGGING DEBT REGARDLESS OF WHO CAUSED IT

People uses to behead the abusive elite and now they just bend over for them

Not saying tax them that much but illustrating a point. It's greed, they'll always try and find the loop holes no matter the system
