"how many miles do i walk before i find help?"
"you walk all night before you find a farmer willing to help you."
"what does he give me that no one else could?"
"his love"
"why must i reject him?"
"your husband will never understand"
"what do i give him instead?"
etc
this is partially a joke because it refutes two of sam's essential postulates about roleplaying while still definitely being roleplaying, but its also a very strange thing to do
anyway im feeling very rejuvenated after all that and now i wanna keep thinking about wuat the hell im trying to do with games as art and also what gmless play actually *means*
It feels a bit like "A Doomed Pilgrim In The Ruins Of The Future", in the Sundered Land anthology, which is good! Reminded me also of a panel that @newmadras.bsky.social and @temporalhiccup.bsky.social did about the role of questions in RPGs
I was going to look for the panel and then I forgot, and then I realised I mcfukcing forgot I was also on that panel, with @momatoes.bsky.social and @breathingstories.bsky.social https://youtu.be/4tatJQHX0LY?si=ZRNlEJr5KKlyOOY4
So, these are all *comparatively* more "Yes, clearly an RPG" from a traditional chair, they're just alterations of authority structure and imply an interrrogative style, but: Right next door, even so.
I will be playing the hack "How long before I'm dating the evil queen?" wherein the Oracle, who knows dating the evil queen is a bad idea, tries to be a bestie and I am my own worst enemy.

Lemme render it into a picture...
Hilarious version: The GM plays the spaceship; the players are the crew; they only experience the universe via the ship: What if it's lying?
Tagging @ladylakira.bsky.social , so she can also see that it's good.
