Her not getting the Nobel prize is unforgivable. But she was not forgotten, she has a element named after! Also everyone who was important in her field knew she was amongst the best, if not the best. They were very sad she refused to work on the Manhattan project, but later knew she had been right.
there’s a framed photo of her (the famously cig holding one) at home. she’s rightly revered. her statelessness was the purported disqualifier for the Nobel, but she was not the only woman physicist who had to work without pay in order to work at all.
What else is new. Women are the fabric that binds the world & society. Mothers, sisters wives and on and on. Recognition is slow coming but we all know who the glue is.
