Someone else said it but I’m here to reiterate. Layers are key. Do too many, you can combine them later! People really like the Retro Supply Company brush sets.

For my style the comics pack has been amazing. Love many of the sketch and inking brushes from there! But if you’re into a more painterly look I’ve only heard good things about the gouache and oil paint brushes. The essentials pack was also great for me when I was starting out.

Duly noted!! I think I’ll start the with essentials pack too and then upgrade further once I get my bearings working on a tablet. The gouache, comics, and watercolor packs definitely caught my eye.

My favorites are watercolor, gouache and oil packs if that helps! The gouache has the sketching pencil I use and I cannot recommend that enough, feels like a real pencil
