This isn't a fault of the education system at all. Schools can only do so much and parents need to work with them as well to help teach things such as Internet safety. But way too many of them have decided that parenting is too hard and let their ipad entertain their children.

Well, you see, this is the thing: most people think that education is just the system of schools, teachers, staff, etc. but the phenomenon is wider: it involves parents, media, culture, legislation, economics, labour, market, the state of tech, science and their outreach.

All that is failing.

Three decades ago education professionals started to recognize that digital literacy was growing important. But the teaching programs were often budget mammoths; the reach was uneven.

Those partially computer literate children grew and now can't (or won't) effectively teach their kids PC skills.
