oh yeah when it started blowing up I was like “wait the only people who could possibly want to watch this show are those who haven’t even gotten as close to the kitchen as Expo, for real BOH there’s just no fucking way”
Everyone in my family are classically trained French chefs except me, they all love the show. Closest I've been is working fast food as a teenager and I can't watch it. Stresses me out.
I worked BOH for the most part and it's definitely triggering 😂 mostly watched it because Jeremy White was in it and I loved Shameless. Then I was introduced to Ayo Edebiri and became a fan. Season 2 was a work of art in a literal sense. The way it was filmed. Don't remember if they were pictures-
Season 2 was a lot different for the artistic parts but it's okay to not like it overall. It generally is super anxiety inducing. Only reason I could get through the screaming matches were because it wasn't literally happening in front of me and I wasn't the one in trouble 😅
It's great enough I'm willing to make myself feel very shitty for a bit. I did get some ticket machine dreams, but the joy of good TV that feels true to that experience means a lot to me. It feels validating to get to say to people "Yes, it is like that in many places." To see the agony and the joy.

It couples all of the horrendous service industry references and somehow manages to still be funny.
